Genelia D’Souza, in a recent interview, got nostalgic about her hit film Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na which completed 15 years earlier this month.

Abbas Tyrewala’s directorial debut Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na is still remembered for Imran Khan-Genelia’s D’Souza’s cute chemistry and AR Rahman’s youthful music. The romantic comedy clocked 15 years on July 4 this year.

In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Genelia walked down the memory lane and said, “I honestly didn’t know it was 15 years till there were so many stories that came back to me saying that you know when I was in college, I did this, this was my first film and this was my favourite moment we went on a date on this film, and then I realized that so many people have lived their life through this film.”

She continued, “What I feel is the beauty of films is that 15 years later, people still find you and Aditi or a meow and they still love you the same way that they did 15 years before. That for me as an actor is gratifying to a large extent and it’s also something that makes me want to act every day.”

When asked if she is still in touch with her co-star Imran Khan and whether they planned a reunion on the film clocking a decade and a half, the Ved actress shared, “We meet in school now. His child and my children are there together. But having said so, Imran also was someone when we are acting, only I knew that he enjoyed directing and you talk about that. I suppose he’s taken a break but you never know what form he will come back. It’s nice to meet him whenever I meet him. It’s an interesting conversation again. We are in different stages in our career.”

Previously, in one of her chats with a leading daily, Genelia had shared that she had given three screen tests before she bagged the role of Aditi in Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na. She had also revealed Imran was more comfortable with the other girl who was shortlisted to play the female lead during the screen test. However later, when he watched his scene with Genelia on the screen, it looked like they were best friends forever.

Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na revolves around two best friends Jai and Aditi who realise their love for each other after they start dating other people.
