Huma Qureshi reveals why Yash’s Toxic will leave everyone shaken. Read her thoughts on working with director Geetu Mohandas and breaking industry barriers.

The hype around Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups has reached fever pitch. The teaser, featuring Yash in his most magnetic avatar yet, dropped recently and instantly polarized audiences. While many fans hailed it as “goosebumps-inducing” and a “mafia king moment,” others felt it was too dark, edgy, and even “corny.”
The teaser’s bold warning, “Kids… stay away. Parents… make sure your kids stay away,” set the tone for a film that refuses to play safe, and reactions have been pouring in ever since.
The Ladies & Ladies teaser introduced Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth, and Huma Qureshi in striking avatars, each commanding attention with intensity. Fans celebrated the female ensemble, calling it “record-breaking storm loading,” while critics questioned whether the intimacy-heavy visuals leaned too much on shock value. Some even raised concerns about censorship, but the buzz only amplified curiosity.
Amidst this, Huma Qureshi, who plays Elizabeth, added fuel to the fire with her candid remarks during a podcast with The Lallantop.
The actress promised audiences an experience unlike anything they’ve seen before. “I feel like people have seen nothing like Toxic here ever before. So, just wait. All the lead actresses that are there in the film, have performed really well. I am not just talking about myself, I am talking about everyone,” she said.

Huma Qureshi further praised Geetu Mohandas for breaking barriers in a male‑dominated industry. She noted that Mohandas, known for her art‑house Malayalam films and international acclaim, had impressed her with the offer of Toxic.
The actress explained that female directors often face resistance in commercial cinema, as many actors hesitate to take instructions from women, which made Mohandas’ collaboration with Yash all the more groundbreaking.
“This film that they have made, it will leave everyone shaken. And if such big actresses are working in it, then there must be something huge happening, right? Just keep some patience and you’ll see,” she said in her interview.
With Yash’s star power, Mohandas’ daring vision, and a teaser that has already divided audiences, Toxic is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about films of the year. The movie is slated to hit the big screens on August 26, 2026.
