Anurag Kashyap revealed Ranveer Singh’s extreme method acting in Lootera, where the actor secretly clipped his stomach during a scene and ended up getting hospitalized.

Ranveer Singh Clipped His Stomach Lootera

Ranveer Singh has always been known for giving his all to every role, but director Anurag Kashyap, who was one of the producers of Lootera, recently shared a shocking story that shows just how far he went in his early days.

Talking to Miss Malini, Kashyap revealed that while shooting the climax of Lootera (2013), Ranveer secretly clipped his stomach to feel the real pain of being shot. He didn’t tell anyone on set, and the act was so intense that he had to be airlifted and taken to the hospital.

“Ranveer Singh, in his second film Lootera, when he gets shot in the climax and to feel that right feeling, he took a clip without telling anyone and clipped himself on the stomach,” Kashyap said. “He went so far as an actor to create that, we had to take him to the hospital.”

Anurag Kashyap pointed out that while Lootera didn’t earn the big box office numbers like Dhurandhar, it proved something far more important — Ranveer Singh’s deep conviction as an actor.

Kashyap shared that Ranveer kept his pain hidden from everyone on set. “The film didn’t do the numbers of Dhurandhar, but it’s that man’s conviction. He didn’t share his pain with anyone. Nobody came to know till he couldn’t move,” he recalled.

Anurag’s revelation only proves that Ranveer’s journey as an actor has been marked by unmatched intensity and commitment. His decision to physically hurt himself shows the extreme passion he had, even so early in his career.

Ranveer Singh is currently basking in the roaring success of his last release Dhurandhar 2. At the same time, cinephiles have another treat as Anurag Kashyap’s much‑awaited Dacoit hits theatres today. The film features Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur in leading roles.
