Jr NTR admitted that his acting process conflicted with director Ayan Mukerji’s style while working on War 2.
Telugu star Jr NTR will be making his Bollywood debut with Ayan Mukerji’s next, War 2. Buzz is that the actor will be essaying the role of the main antagonist in this Hrithik Roshan-Kiara Advani starrer.
Ahead of the release of his upcoming ambitious film, Devara- Part 1, Jr NTR, during a promotional interaction with Karan Johar and ‘Jigra’ star Alia Bhatt opened up on the difference in the work style between South filmmakers and directors in Hindi cinema, and how his ideology clashed with that of ‘War 2’ director Ayan Mukerji because of this reason.
Jr NTR shared that directors in the South do not prep a lot during the pre-production period and he follows the same school of thought. However, Ayan believes in long prepping cycles before he begins the filming process.
The ‘RRR’ star said, “Too much of prep doesn’t give you the chance to explore yourself. South Indian films (sets) have always been chaotically organised. Like, if the prints have to go tomorrow, the team will still ask for one extra hour because they want to make some changes in the edit. The clock is ticking, the prints have to be delivered, but you’re still working on the film.”
He continued, “You are shooting for a crazy sequence tomorrow, but everybody is so chill, we are not prepping at all. We know what needs to be done. I think it is the chaos which brings a great amount of organisation and somewhere that makes us more instinctive as artistes.”

To explain this in detail, he citied the example of his Hindi debut, War 2. Jr NTR shared, “This was the experience I had with Hindi cinema also. When I was shooting for War 2, Ayan did not know what’s going to come. Because he was trying to bring it out from me, that how is this going to come out.”
“I told him, ‘Ayan I am very instinctive, kuch na kuch aa jayega (something will come).’ Now, he is not used to do this at all, he loves prep and I am completely the opposite. And then Adi sir was there in between, who said, ‘It’s ok, it’s ok, I get it,’” the ‘Temper’ actor recalled.
Currently, Jr NTR is busy with the promotions of his upcoming ambitious project, Koratala Siva’s Devara- Part 1 which features Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead, and Saif Ali Khan as his nemesis.
