Sunny Deol addressed his past fallout with Shah Rukh Khan post Darr when he recently made an appearance on Rajat Sharma’s Aap Ki Adalat.
Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan featured together in Yash Chopra’s romantic thriller Darr. However, after the release of the film, the two stars had a fallout and apparently didn’t speak to each other for 16 years. However now, all’s well between the two stars now.
Sometime back, Shah Rukh Khan gave a shoutout to Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 on Twitter. Later, the ‘Jawan‘ star even graced the success party of Sunny’s film, and was seen sharing a warm hug and posing for the paparazzi with his ‘Darr’ co-star on the red carpet at the event.
Recently, when Sunny Deol appeared as a guest on Rajat Sharma’s chat show ‘Aap Ki Adalat’, the actor opened up on his past feud with SRK. He said that they have moved past it and added that they have now realised the ‘childishness’ of their behaviour.
Sunny said, “A time comes when you forget everything that happened and you understand that that should not have happened as that was childishness. Definitely, after that Shah Rukh and I have met each other multiple times. We have talked about films. He watched my film with the whole family, he also called me up.”
In an earlier appearance on the same show, Sunny had talked about how he had a heated discussion with director Yash Chopra about the climax of Darr and ripped his pants off out of anger. The actor had said that he was dissatisfied with how his role of the protagonist was portrayed in the film. According to him, Shah Rukh Khan’s antagonist role was being glorified while his character, that of a Indian Navy officer, was depicted as weak.
Cut to present, the two stars have let bygones be bygones and now share a warm equation.
Meanwhile, during his recent interaction, Sunny also talked about his equation with the other Khan-Salman Khan.
He said, “Salman and I have a different equation. Obviously, I’m senior to him. When I used to work, he used to come on the set. ..Hamesha.. He had a good bond with Papa (Dharmendra)..And so that give and take, which is with very few people, was there. Obviously, it is not that they are my colleagues. I have my bonds with everyone. I am what I am, you may like it or may not like it.”
Sunny Deol’s last release Gadar 2 is one of the biggest blockbusters of this year.
