Samantha, at a recent event, opened up about her bold choice to do ‘Oo Antava,’ revealing it was a personal challenge.

Samantha turned heads with her electrifying performance in ‘Oo Antava’, the sizzling item number from Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise (2021). The actress embodied a boldness that felt both unexpected and magnetic, challenging the industry’s typecasting and her own self-perception
Recently, at NDTV World Summit 2025’s session titled ‘Authenticity: The New Fame’, Samantha opened up on why she gave her nod to this chartbuster song.
“I did Oo Antava to see if I could. It was a challenge that I gave myself. I never considered myself sexy. No one was ever going to give me a ‘bold role’. It was a one-time thing,” the Khushi actress said.
Samantha had previously mentioned that her legs were shivering while filming ‘Oo Antava and went on to say that it was ‘very difficult’.
Meanwhile, at the NDTV World Summit, Samantha also reflected on her understanding of authenticity by tracing it back to her modest upbringing.
She spoke about the struggles her family faced, including times when putting food on the table was difficult. Despite later gaining name, fame, wealth, and applause, she admitted feeling overwhelmed and unsure of how to navigate it all.
According to Samantha, authenticity is deeply rooted in one’s upbringing, and losing alignment with that foundation can lead to inner turmoil.
The actress confessed that even after achieving immense success, it didn’t bring the sense of fulfilment she had anticipated. It was only when she began using her visibility to create value that she discovered a deeper sense of purpose. For her, the true measure of success lies not in the spotlight itself, but in how one chooses to use that platform.
On the work front, Samantha was last seen in a cameo in her production titled Subham.
