Samantha, who was struggling with myositis during Citadel: Honey Bunny shoot, revealed how she once suffered a concussion while filming the project.
Samantha was battling myositis, an autoimmune disorder when she began shooting for Raj and DK’s upcoming high-octane action series Citadel: Honey Bunny. In a recent interview, the ‘Kushi’ actress recalled an instance when she suffered a ‘concussion’ on the sets, and completely blanked out.
Samantha told Galatta India, “I had a concussion and I forgot the names after that. I completely blanked out. That was quite something.”
She further joked, “Now that I think of it, nobody took me to the hospital. Nobody asked me.” The show’s writer Sita Menon who was also a part of the same conversation clarified that they did have a doctor on call, which Samantha does not remember because of her concussion.
Samantha then went on to narrate how she was keen to shoot despite her concussion as she was aware that they had access to that location only for a limited time.
“I remember, during my concussion, hearing that we have the set only for less than a day, we need to finish the shoot. So in my concussion, I was like, ‘I am coming, people, I am coming.’ Then I remember the stunt guy was in front of me, and then I was like, ‘What am I doing?’ and they were like, ‘Okay, cut, not happening,” the ‘Ye Maaye Chesave’ actress shared in the interview.
She also mentioned how she ‘begged’ Raj and DK to replace her with some other actress in the series as she felt too ill to shoot for the project. However, she also added that she is glad that she found the strength to deal with her struggle, and also expressed her gratitude towards the team for choosing to continue working with her.
Touted to be a spin-off of Priyanka Chopra-Richard Madden’s Citadel, Citadel Honey Bunny features Varun Dhawan and Samantha in leading roles. The series will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video from November 7.
