Sai Pallavi, in a recent interview, credited Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai for her passion for dance. She also opened up on why she dislikes being called a star.
Over the years, Sai Pallavi has established herself as one of the most promising actresses in the Tamil and Telugu film industry. She also featured in Malayalam movies like Premam, Kali and Athiran where she received rave reviews for her performance.
Besides her impressive acting chops, the Gargi actress is also known for her mesmerising dance moves which always wins hearts. In a new interview with Film Companion, Sai opened up on how Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai influenced her while growing up.
The actress told the entertainment portal, “I’ve never learned to dance, I grew up watching Madhuri Dixit ma’am, Aishwarya Rai ma’am & Saroj Khan ma’am’s dances. I think, for 3 years, I just danced to one song and that is ‘Dola Re Dola’. It was my go-to dance, I liked it so much. Even when you wake me up in my sleep, I’ll be doing that step.”
“I didn’t realize, growing up, that dance will play a major role in disciplining me or bringing some sort of rhythm in my body. So, I owe it all to dancing, and Mum letting me do what I loved, even as a child,” Sai told the publication.
In the same interview, the Shyam Singha Roy actress also shared that she dislikes being called a ‘star’ and just wants to be known for her work.
Explaining the reason behind the same, Sai said, “I’m not a film star, I’m just someone who’s lucky enough to do what she loves & is getting so much love from the people around. I consider myself to be extremely blessed.”
On the work front, Sai Pallavi will next be seen in a yet-to-be-titled film opposite Sivakarthikeyan. Reports suggest that the commercial entertainer will feature her in a never seen before avatar.
