Rakul Preet Singh, in a recent interview, opened up on how she got replaced by Kajal Aggarwal in Prabhas’ 2011 film Mr Perfect.
Prabhas’ 2011 romantic drama Mr Perfect starred Kajal Aggarwal and Taapsee Pannu as the leading ladies. But do you guys know that Kajal Aggarwal was not the first choice for the role of Priya in this hit flick? Yes, you heard that right!
The makers had previously roped in Rakul Preet Singh to play Priya, and the actress had even shot for four days for this film. However, they decided to replace her with Kajal Aggarwal as the ‘Singham’ actress and Prabhas had delivered a blockbuster film back then.
In an interview with Filmfare, Rakul revealed, “There was a film in Telugu that I shot for four days and I was replaced. It was with Prabhas. It was for the best. Everybody had the best intentions. I was new and in my second year in college. I was studying on the set for my exams. The film was Mr Perfect.”
She continued, “I had already shot for a few days when the producers decided to repeat the same casting. It was absolutely a business call, and a sensible one at that. When a pair works and delivers a hit, it’s normal to want to recreate that success. At the time, I didn’t even know the full reason. I was told to go back and wait for the next schedule, and then I found out I’d been replaced once I was back in Delhi.”
