Priyanka Chopra recalled how she had once liked a script so much that she got her agents to call the director and auditioned for it not once but thrice.
Despite being an established star, Priyanka Chopra says that she has no qualms about giving an audition for a movie if she likes the script and never lets her pride come in the way.
The actress recently attended a masterclass session at the ongoing Jio MAMI Film Festival wherein she reflected upon her film journey and got candid about her process when it comes to selecting scripts.
According to a report in ETimes, the ‘Fashion’ star in conversation with Bhumi Pednekar, said that while she does receive film offers, there have also been times when she had to “fight and audition for them.
Recalling one such instance and without revealing the name of the film, Priyanka said that she once liked a film script so much that she got her her agents to call the director and offered to audition for the role. The actress revealed that she met the filmmaker and gave three auditions for the movie before bagging it.
“The second he came over to my house and did a reading and then the third time we went to the studio and I got the part,” she told the audience. The actress said, “I am not afraid of pursuing my dreams. My pride doesn’t stand in front of my dreams ever.”
According to Priyanka, ego is the end of everything. “Come from a place of no pride, come from a team, wanting to help others rise instead of wanting to pull others down. Because you are insecure about something and in that feeling, we pull others down,” the actress said at the event.
After winning the Miss World crown in 2000, Priyanka Chopra made her acting debut with the Tamil film Thamizhan opposite Thalapathy Vijay. She made her Hindi film debut with a supporting role in Sunny Deol-Preity Zinta starrer The Hero: Love Story Of A Spy.
