Malavika Mohanan is all set to share screen space with Prabhas in his upcoming horror comedy, The Raja Saab.
After working in Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi films, Malavika Mohanan is gearing up for her Tollywood debut with superstar Prabhas’ next, The Raja Saab. Helmed by Maruthi, the film is touted to be a horror comedy, and also features Nidhhi Agerwal in a pivotal role.
Malavika, in a recent interview with Hindustan Times, opened up on why she decided to foray into Tollywood with this Prabhas starrer. The ‘Thangalan’ actress said that she was waiting for the right film to enter Telugu cinema, and The Raja Saab just happened to be that project.
Malavika said, “I was waiting for the right film to enter the Telugu film industry with, so to get one in which my character has a lot to do is a boon. The film is an out-and-out entertainer, and we’re halfway through shooting it.”
Further, she also talked about how she had a ‘great time’ on the film’s sets; courtesy her co-star Prabhas.
“Prabhas has fed me quite a bit…a lot. (laughs) Everyone who works with him can vouch for his generosity. And, he tends to send a lot of food. It’s not like he’ll send biryani and raita or a chicken curry…it’ll be 10-12 large utensils with enough food to feed a village. But it’s also the most delicious food I’ve had,” shared the actress who made her acting debut with Dulquer Salmaan’s Pattam Pole in 2013.
Further, Malavika also said that she is having a ‘good time’ dabbling with different industries and expressed her desire to work with directors like Mani Ratnam, SS Rajamouli and Zoya Akhtar.
The actress said, “It’s a good time to be an actor, especially if you’re a woman, because there’s so much scope, and you’re not limited to a single space.”
Meanwhile, Malavika Mohanan’s latest release, Siddhant Chaturvedi starrer Yudhra is currently running in theatres.
