Writer Vijayendra Prasad, who is penning SS Rajamouli’s next, reacted to reports floating in the media about Mahesh Babu’s character in the RRR director’s upcoming venture.
After the blockbuster RRR headlined by Ram Charan and Jr NTR, director SS Rajamouli’s next features Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu as the main lead. While there is a lot of anticipation around this star vehicle, recently, a news portal claimed that the Dookudu actor’s character in this film is inspired by Lord Hanuman.
The report claimed that while this SS Rajamouli directorial is a jungle adventure, Mahesh Babu’s character will be having traits similar to Lord Hanuman, who also has a history of fight against all odds in forests.
Now, as per a report in Film Companion, the latest development is that the film’s writer Vijayendra Prasad has rubbished these rumours while speaking with a publication.
He said, “No, his character is not based on Lord Hanuman, or any mythological character.”
Further, a source close to the project added, “Only Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli have been decided. Any other addition to the cast or crew you read about is manufactured. Mahesh Babu plays a contemporary character in a the fast-paced jungle adventure.”
Previously, Mahesh Babu had talked about this project and said that working with SS Rajamouli is a ‘dream come true’ for him. Calling it a ‘physically demanding’ project, he had shared that he is excited about it and hopes to break barriers with this film.
