Karan Johar reacted to allegations of helping Alia Bhatt in getting Vasan Bala’s Jigra.
While team Jigra is currently busy with the promotions of their upcoming film, one of their recent interviews with a YouTube channel recently hit the news for wrong reasons.
Earlier this month, a byte from that conversation went viral on social media in which director Vasan Bala had shared how Karan Johar had forwarded the unpolished script of Jigra to Alia Bhatt, adding that if he had known if it was going to her, he would have at least formatted and edited it.
Post Vasan’s revelation, several social media users slammed Karan Johar and accused him of promoting nepotism. Now, in response, Karan has taken to his Instagram handle to address this criticism, and set the record straight. Expressing his dissatisfaction over the misinterpretation of Vasan’s statement, he requested people to hear and read complete interviews before making clickbait assumptions.

Karan wrote, “Twitter became X and became my X a while ago… I broke up with the nauseous noise and muted the unwarranted angst … but social media is like the Lockness monster it’s gets to you even when you can’t see it.. so was flooded with Vasan Bala’s interview which he answered with pure innocence and so much love…”
He continued, “The gore misinterpretation of his comment about me sending the script to Alia without his grammar checks made me laugh initially at the ludicrousness of it all but now is truly annoying me … Vasan continues to be one of my most talented and wonderful collaborators and if you see his interview and hear his tone you will totally get it! BUT NO … much ado about nothing is all over the place…” he added.
The producer of Jigra concluded the post by saying, “I fold my hands and tell everyone please hear and read entire interviews before making click bait assumptions. ❤️! Loads of Love to all of you ….”
Before the casting controversy around Jigra, Alia Bhatt, in the past, had debunked misconceptions that she is presented films on a silver platter.
In a chat with India Today during ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ promotions, the actress had said, “The biggest misconception is that I’ve been sort of given all my movies just placed and presented to me on a silver platter or I have asked for it. I totally don’t agree with it, and I also don’t understand how anyone can even say those things because anybody who is in the business or has been a part of the business will know that you cannot survive even 17 minutes without being hard-working.”
“I know the number of sleepless nights I have had or the number of cuts, bruises, and aches I have endured during the process. It has been 10 years, and I have given my blood, sweat, and tears to the process of filmmaking throughout my career. I don’t think it is possible to survive these many years in the industry or any industry without hard work,” she was quoted as saying.
Jigra, starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina, is slated to release on October 11.
