Kajol, in a new interview, spoke about how her co-star Shah Rukh Khan figured out a way to make her feel comfortable while shooting the steamy number ‘Jaati Hoon Main’ from Karan Arjun.
Every time Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan share screen space, it’s magic on screen! Touted to be one of iconic onscreen pairs of Hindi cinema, the duo have delivered several blockbusters together. Off screen too, King Khan and Kajol share a warm bond which has been evident on various instances.
Speaking about their successful collaborations, one of them is Rakesh Roshan’s 1995 film Karan Arjun which also starred Salman Khan, Mamta Kulkarni, Rakhee and Amrish Puri. The reincarnation drama featured a popular song ‘Jaati Hoon Main’ which was picturized on SRK and Kajol. The track was composed by Rakesh Roshan and choreographed by Chinni Prakash.
In a recent interview with The Hindu, Kajol spoke about what behind making the song, which has been dubbed as a “tastefully done steamy” track. The DDLJ actress admitted that she was mostly clueless about the song design and merely did what she was asked to do by the choreographer. Kajol shared how Shah Rukh Khan who made her comfortable to do the song and added that the superstars just “gets it” what women are okay or uncomfortable to do.

The publication quoted the actress as saying, “I had no clue what was being done. I was told before the shot ye karna, woh karna hai and I did just that. Bohot mushkil se kiya, lekin kiya (It was tough to do, but I did it). I would say one thing about Shah Rukh that he is still one of the most understanding costars because he understands what is uncomfortable for a woman to do and not to do and he tries his level best to make you most comfortable to do that.”
“I would say that he is the most understanding of actors that I have worked with in my whole (career). He really gets it, that, ‘This is not comfortable for her to do and it’s ok, I will figure a way out to make it as comfortable as possible,” she told the portal.
On the work front, Kajol will next be seen in the Netflix anthology Lust Stories 2. She also has Disney+ Hotstar’s upcoming series The Good Wife in her kitty.
