In a new interview, Bhumi Pednekar shared her take on Akshay Kumar’s process of delivering his lines while facing the camera.
Every actor has his or her own acting process through which they try to make the maximum impact on screen. In a recent interview, Bhumi Pednekar who has shared screen space with Akshay Kumar in Toilet Ek Prem Katha and Raksha Bandhan, opened up on her co-star’s process as an actor.
A fan asked her if like Akshay, she too recites her dialogue by reading it from cue cards while giving the shot. In response, the actress shared that contrary to what people might think, the ‘Mission Mangal’ actor actually memorises his dialogues beforehand, but there is a person holding up his dialogues on a board during the take.
While speaking with The Lallantop, Bhumi revealed, “Akshay sir actually memorises his lines. I asked him, ‘Why do you have this?’ He said, ‘So that I am in the moment’. So I was like, maybe its is his process.”
On being asked if there is a person holding a board behind the camera, she continued, “Somewhere there will be (a person), you will not even realise it. But the thing is that he knows his lines because he has done the lines with me before. So I don’t know his process… its is his own process.”

Further, she shared her own take on Akshay’s acting process and continued that she feels that he does that as he feels ‘some kind of security. She also recalled how the actor also shared with her how even Marlon Brandon used to follow the same technique.
On being asked if she learns her dialogues, Bhumi admitted that she is not very good with learning her lines and hence, she memorises them by writing them repeatedly. She revealed that she had once tried Akshay’s method for her film Durgamati but that process didn’t work for her.
“There was a very long monologue in Durgamati. I couldn’t do it. It’s impossible. I don’t know how he does it,” she said in her interview.
On the work front, Bhumi Pednekar is currently busy with the promotions of her upcoming Netflix film Bhakshak.
