Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan opened up on why it wasn’t challenging for him to work with his superstar-father.
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan recently launched his own luxury streetwear brand D’YAVOL X. At the same time, he also made his directorial debut with an ad for the brand featuring his father.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Aryan spoke about his experience of directing his superstar dad. He revealed that working with SRK wasn’t challenging because the latter made everyone’s job easier on the sets.
The magazine quoted Aryan as saying, “Working with my father is never challenging, because, with his experience and dedication, he makes everyone’s job easier on set. He also makes the entire crew feel at ease and has tremendous respect for everyone. When he’s on set I always make sure to pay extra attention, so I don’t miss out on anything I can learn.”
On being asked if the ‘Pathaan’ star gave him any inputs, he continued, “Of course, he did (share inputs), and everyone involved in the project gave their input in some way. And it is important to at least listen to them because filmmaking is a collaborative effort. If my dad’s input is different from mine, and if both seem valid, you can always shoot it both ways; but don’t tell my producer.”
Aryan also shared his parents, Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan’s reaction to his first ad and added, “They asked me to keep some pieces from the collection aside for them, in case it sells out. I am still considering their request.”
Previously, when Shah Rukh Khan had graced David Letterman’s talk show, ‘My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman’, he had told the host that his son Aryan doesn’t want to follow into his footsteps and become an actor. He had said that though his son is a ‘good writer,’ he doesn’t have what it takes to be an actor.
On the film front, Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in Atlee’s upcoming directorial, Jawan which also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi.
