Alisha Parveen, who plays the role of Raahi in Anupamaa, expressed her disappointment over getting replaced in the popular show.
Star Plus’ popular TV soap Anupamaa is back in the news for the changes in its cast! In a shocking turn of events, the makers have replaced Alisha Parveen in the show without giving her any previous notice or explaining. The actress essays the role of Raahi, Anupamaa’s step-daughter in this Rupali Ganguly starrer.
Alisha confirmed this development in a chat with ETimes and said, “It is shocking and disappointing. I am not sure what exactly happened and why I am being replaced! Today was my last day on the set of Anupamaa. It was a fantastic opportunity and everybody loved my chemistry with Shivam Khajuria. But I have no clue why I was suddenly replaced.”
She added, “I had a meeting yesterday and was told about this decision. I am completely clueless but it happens sometimes. I will focus on my future projects now.”
Meanwhile, Alisha also took to her Instagram stories to clarify that she has not quit the show.
The actress wrote, “Hello everyone, I didn’t quit the show Anupamaa but I don’t know the reason exactly why this happened. Everything was good but I don’t know why this suddenly happened, it was shocking for me too, but thank you so much for loving Raahi/Aadhya. I am so grateful to be a part of this show. I worked so hard for the character but I don’t know what just happened, just thank you everyone who loved me! I will miss this show from the depth of my heart.”
This isn’t the first time when an actor has been shown the exit door in this show. Previously, Paras Kalnawat who played the role of Samar in the show, was sacked for allegedly signing the celebrity dance-reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 10 without informing the makers. However in Alisha’s case, the makers are yet to issue any official statement regarding Alisha’s exit from the show.
Meanwhile, the report in ETimes also states that the makers have approached Adrija Roy to play the character of Raahi which was earlier essayed by Alisha. Adrija was last seen playing the character of Palki in Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya which recently went off air.
