Garvita Sadhwani recently opened up on replacing Pratiksha Honmukhe as Ruhi in Star Plus’ popular TV show, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
One of Rajan Shahi’s longest running TV shows, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai recently stirred a controversy over the termination of two of its lead actors- Shehzada Dhami and Pratiksha Honmukhe. Following their exit from the show, Rohit Purohit and Garvita Sadhwani stepped in to Armaan and Ruhi respectively.
In a chat with ETimes, Garvita has now shared that she is enjoying working on Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai a lot. The actress said that she feels grateful as the audience gave a very good response to their first episode which was aired recently on Holi.
Garvita told the news portal, “The audience is liking my work and we are getting positive comments. I am reading all the comments that the fans are sending. They are writing to me that Ruhi is looking very cute. People are praising my acting and the cutest comment that I came across was that Ruhi and Abhira are finally looking like sisters. I have got really a warm reception from the audience and the journey is going to be great working on the show.”
She also opened up on replacing Pratiksha as Ruhi and said, Not just replacement, working on any character generally is tough for any actor. It is a very challenging job for any actor to justify a role. I’ve been shooting for the past one week and l have got used to it and l and sure slowly the audience will also get used to it. I’m getting a very good reaction from the audience. l’m sure very soon things will become normal. The beauty about challenge is that I’m working extra hard to justify the role as we have to respect somebody’s work.”
Garvita was also all praise for the production house and added, “It’s best part is that it treats you like a family. When I come here to shoot it feels like l am at home working. Since l have done a show (Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si) in the past with the same production house, I am used to working with them and l am aware of things. I know I have to work hard for this role.”
Further, the actress also told the portal that she shares a very good bond with her co-star Samridhii Shukla (who plays Abhira) right from day one.
