Aashiesh Sharrma recalled how he got replaced by Aditya Roy Kapur in Vipul Shah’s Action Replayy without being informed.
Before establishing himself as one of the popular faces on television with shows like Gunahon Ka Devta, Chandragupta Maurya and Rang Rasiya, amongst others, Aashiesh Sharrma made his big screen debut with Dibakar Banerjee’s Love Sex Aur Dhokha in 2010.
But do you guys know that Aashiesh had also got shortlisted for Akshay Kumar-Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s science fiction comedy, Action Replayy that released in the same year? Unfortunately, the makers replaced him abruptly with Aditya Roy Kapur as Bunty in the film.
The actor made this revelation in his recent interview with Siddharth Kannan for the latter’s YouTube channel.
Aashiesh recalled, “I was told a month ago that I have been shortlisted. They did workshops with me for 10-15 days. All of a sudden they stopped calling me. After that I saw the poster with Aditya, that is it. There have been many such incidents like this that happened to me.”
Action Replayy revolves around a young man who tries to revive his parent’s wilting marriage by travelling back in time to set things right.
Further elaborating on how this experience wasn’t an isolated incident, he narrated another instance where he lost out on Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami. Aashiesh said that after the producer Saurabh Tewari, he was told that he would be replaced by Arjun Kapoor. Eventually, Divyendu Sharma went on to play that role.
The actor said that he continues to have a positive outlook despite such setbacks, and added, “There is space for everyone in the industry; you just have to be at it.”
Ashiesh’s last on screen appearance was the 2022 film, Hindutva.
