Anurag Kashyap revealed that he had written the script of Kennedy keeping Chiyaan Vikram in his mind and had even approached him for the same. However, the Ponniyin Selvan 2 actor never responded to him.
Anurag Kashyap is currently stationed in France where his upcoming film, Kennedy is all set for its world premiere at the Midnight screening of the festival. Amid this, the filmmaker in an interview with a publication, revealed that Rahul Bhat was not his first choice for this film.

Anurag further revealed that he had even reached out to Vikram for this film but the latter didn’t respond to his film offer.
The filmmaker told Film Companion, “I actually had a specific actor in mind, when I wrote this film. Which is why the film is called Kennedy. Because that actor’s nickname is Kennedy. The film was called Kennedy Project. It is Chiyaan Vikram. Chiyaan Vikram’s real name is Kennedy. I reached out to him. He never responded. So then, I reached out to Rahul. I said ‘Read it’. His reaction, his response was enthusiastic. And not like as an actor. And he was like, ‘Yeh kaun kar raha hai (Who is doing this role)?’ I said, ‘karega (Will you do it)?’ He said ‘me?’ I said, ‘Yes, but you will have to give it all’. And he was supposed to do some films.”
Anurag said that Rahul gave eight months of his life to Kennedy.
Kennedy revolves around an insomniac cop, presumed to be dead, looking for redemption. Written and directed by Anurag Kashyap, the film features Rahul Bhat and Sunny Leone in pivotal role.
Speaking about Vikram, the actor was recently seen in Mani Ratnam’s period drama, Ponniyin Selvan 2. His upcoming film is Pa Ranjith’s Thangalaan.
