Tovino Thomas was all praise for ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli in a recent interaction with the media.
Tovino Thomas’ latest Malayalam outing 2018 has emerged as the highest grossing Malayalam film ever surpassing Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan which previously held this record. Post its stupendous success in Malayalam, the makers released the film in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu as well and these versions too, have struck a chord with the audience.
Recently, while interacting with the media in Hyderabad, Tovino Thomas heaped praise on RRR director SS Rajamouli and called him an ‘inspiration’ for all directors in every nook and corner of the country.
The Minnal Murali actor said, “The term pan-India was coined after Baahubali was released. Thanks to Rajamouli sir. And now, he is taking Telugu cinema to another level and it has got global visibility after RRR. The way his movies are made, the way he showcases his movies and ensures that the film reaches every part of the world, is amazing.”
He added, “He is a true inspiration for every filmmaker in every nook and corner of India, to follow his footsteps, chase their dreams and make movies that are appreciated all over the world. I really believe the Indian film industry has the potential to be big. Many industries are producing amazing movies and I am sure in the coming years we are going to see amazing responses from all over the world.”
Speaking about 2018, the survival thriller helmed by Jude Anthany Joseph is based on the Kerala floods. Made on a budget of around Rs 20 Crore, the film has already crossed Rs 150 Crore worldwide at the box office. Besides Tovino Thomas, the survival thriller also features Kunchako Boban, Asif Ali, Vineeth Srinivasan, Aparna Balamurali and Kalaiarasan among others.
