At a recent media event, SS Rajamouli opened up on his dream project, Mahabharat and made some interesting statements about it.
Last year in an interview, ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli had revealed that he has been nurturing his dream of making a movie on the Indian epic, Mahabharat since a long time. He had also said that that he will give a spin on the original Mahabharata in his own way and will zero down the casting only after penning down the entire script.
Now, at a recent media event, the RRR director once again talked about his dream project. He said that if he gets to make Mahabharat, it would be a 10-part film because it would take him at least a year to read every version of the epic which is currently available in the country.
Rajamouli said, “If I get to the point of making Mahabharat, it would take me a year just to read the versions of Mahabharat that are available in the country. At present, I can only assume that it would be a 10-part film.”
On being asked if Mahabharat is anything soon in his scheme of times, the filmmaker replied, “Every film I make, I feel that I’m learning something to ultimately make Mahabharat. So that’s my dream and every step is towards that.”
SS Rajamouli’s last outing, RRR, starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR was not only one of the biggest blockbusters of the year but it also picked up an Oscar Award for the ‘Best Original Song’. The filmmaker is now busy with his upcoming film with Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu. The big-budget film touted to be an action-adventure, is based on true events.
