Siddharth, in a recent interview, opened up on why he is consciously trying to stay away from doing romantic films.
In the last few years, Siddharth has been trying hard to break free from his ‘lover boy’ image by doing films like Aval, Jigarthanda and others. But, the shadow of his characters from celebrated romantic films like Bommarillu and Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana just refuses to leave him.
In a recent interview with Film Companion, the Rang De Basanti actor admitted that he was tired of doing romantic movies despite tasting success with them. According to Siddharth, he fared well in romantic films because he believes that the female lead plays a prominent role in them.
Explaining the reason behind the longevity of his characters in his romantic films, the actor explained, “As far as romantic films are concerned, they have a longer life span for characters In other films, you remember the hero, while in love stories, you remember the characters. However, as an actor, I was tired of doing romantic films, I wanted to do something different every day instead of just exploring relationships in films.”
Talking about his upcoming film, Karthik G Krish’s Takkar, Siddharth shared that it has a unique love story. The actor told the portal, “In Takkar, the boy and the girl are way different from each other. But when they meet, there is combustion, chemistry, and spontaneity. That’s what is unique about this film. Karthik is a director who creates unique commercial moments; he thinks for the big screen.”
Helmed by Karthik G Krish, Takkar also features Divyansha Kaushik and Abhimanyu Singh.
