Shraddha Kapoor admitted that her role in Stree 2 stands out as one of her favourite transformations on screen.
Shraddha Kapoor is currently riding high on the success of her latest release, Stree 2 which has emerged as the highest grossing Hindi film ever, beating the lifetime collection of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. Co-starring Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee, the horror comedy has struck a chord with the audience.
In her latest interview with Femina India magazine, Shraddha said that there was something uniquely thrilling about pushing boundaries she hadn’t before with her role in this Amar Kaushik directorial.
The actress said, “I truly relished those intense sequences. I thought it was exceptionally cool for a girl to take on action with her choti.”
Kapoor said that slipping back into the character of a mysterious witch was an amazing experience for her, and added, “There’s a lot of mystery around my character, sparking countless questions. This time, the film peels back even more layers for the audience, while also offering new insights that will keep them intrigued.”
When pointed out the buzz around her role in the film, the ‘Aashiqui 2’ actress said that it’s extremely rewarding to be part of a film and a franchise that the audiences have received with so much love. She added that watching them entertained makes her incredibly proud to be a part of this journey.
Shraddha further told the publication that she is hoping to take up more author-backed roles.
“When a character is intricately written and well developed, it adds layers of excitement and depth to the role for an actor. I thoroughly enjoyed embodying the complex character in Haseena Parkar (2019), and Aashiqui 2 and Chhichhore (2019) were also fabulous experiences. Those kinds of richly-crafted roles excite me,” she was quoted as saying.
Speaking about Shraddha Kapoor‘s upcoming projects, the actress seems to be quite tight-lipped about them. However, earlier in February this year, she had hinted during a fan interaction session that she has two films that are currently in the developmental stage- a film based on a mythological story and a time travel film.
