Casting director Mukesh Chhabra has this to say about speculations around Shah Rukh Khan-Atlee’s Jawan.
Shah Rukh Khan delivered one of the biggest blockbusters of this year with Siddharth Anand’s action extravaganza Pathaan after sabbatical of five years. Now, the Bollywood superstar is gearing up to set the big screens on fire once again with his upcoming film Jawan.
The big-budget entertainer marks his first collaboration with Tamil filmmaker Atlee who is known for films like Theri, Mersal and Bigil. Jawan is Atlee’s first Hindi film.
Last month, the makers dropped the prevue on the film which went viral on the internet in no time. Fans couldn’t stop gushing over King Khan’s badass avatar and expressed their eagerness over watching this film on the big screen. At the same time, there were also many fan theories floating on social media. One of them was that Jawan is inspired by the popular Spanish web series Money Heist.
For the unversed, Money Heist revolves around eight thieves who take hostages and lock themselves in the Royal Mint of Spain as a criminal mastermind who goes by the name ‘The Professor’ manipulates the cops to carry out his plan.
Recently, in a conversation with entertainment journalist Faridoon Shahyar, casting director Mukesh Chhabra who is closely associated with this Shah Rukh Khan starrer reacted to these speculations.
Chhabra said, “Jitne logo ko guess karna hai karte rahiye. Jab Jawan bahar aayegi toh aapko pata chalega aapne dekha. Trailer ke baad mujhe itne messages aaye, but I didn’t disclose. (Let people keep guessing. When Jawan releases then you will come to know. After the trailer, I received a lot of messages, but I didn’t disclose.” He said that he wants everyone to and witness it on the big screen.
The casting director who is a fan of Shah Rukh Khan added that Jawan is a special film for him, and he is confident that it will surprise SRK fans in a big way.
Speaking about Jawan, the Shah Rukh Khan starrer also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra and Priyamani in pivotal roles with Deepika Padukone in a cameo. The Atlee directorial is slated to arrive in cinema halls on September 7, 2023.
