Salman Khan, at a recent media interaction, called out the growing insecurity among the younger generation of actors.
Ahead of the release of his upcoming film Sikandar, Salman Khan interacted with a section of media wherein the Bollywood superstar didn’t mince his words while reflecting upon the current state of the film industry.
Speaking about the lack of collaboration when it comes to the younger generation of actors, Salman pointed out that they are reluctant to do two-hero films due to insecurity.
The Tiger Zinda Hai star said, “Actors today have become very insecure. Do you see any of the younger generation stars doing two-hero films?” He revealed that he had approached several younger actors—both individually and for joint projects—but they declined, often citing vague excuses. “The truth is, they just didn’t want to work together.”
In his career spanning more than three decades, Salman, over the years, has often collaborated with actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor, and others.
“We used to do multiple films together, even make guest appearances for each other. It was about bringing our fans together and boosting box office numbers. And in the process, we became friends, spending 100–150 days shooting together,” Salman told reporters.
Further, the Wanted actor also questioned the current mindset of filmmakers and producers.
He quoted his father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan and said “Movies are being made for all the wrong reasons—because an actor’s dates are free, or a heroine is getting married, or funding is available. Where’s the creative vision?”
On the work front, Salman Khan has AR Murugadoss’ Sikandar up next for release. Co-starring Rashmika Mandanna and Kajal Aggarwal, the action entertainer will be hitting the big screens on Eid 2025.
