Salman Khan refused to take credit for the blockbuster success of Pathaan and said that the film did well because of Shah Rukh Khan and producer Aditya Chopra.
After a sabbatical of five years, Bollywood’s ‘Badshah’ Shah Rukh Khan had a smashing comeback on the big screen with Siddharth Anand’s espionage thriller, Pathaan.
Co-starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, the film shattered many box office records across the country and even in the international markets. The high-octane actioner even beat Aamir Khan’s Dangal to become the highest grossing Hindi film of all-time.
Besides Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone’s sizzling chemistry, John Abraham’s swag and the nail-biting action scenes, one of the highlights of the film is Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s cameo as Tiger. The ‘Karan-Arjun’ reunion on screen drew a lot of whistles and cheers in the cinema hall.
Recently, when Salman Khan made an appearance on Rajat Sharma’s chat show, ‘Aap Ki Adalat’, the host asked him about those who credited him for Pathaan’s humongous success. To which, the Dabangg actor humbly interrupted him and said that nobody can take the credit away from Shah Rukh Khan and Aditya Chopra for the film’s success.
The actor said, “Bilkul nahi, sir. Bilkul nahi. Ye credit koi Shah Rukh Khan se koi chheen nahi sakta, Adi Chopra se koi chheen nahi sakta. Bilkul hi nahi. Shah Rukh ne bahut achha kaam kiya hai. Sab fans Shah Rukh ki film dekhne ke liye taras gaye the, aur ek right time, right mauke par, right film aayi. I think it is the biggest hit in the Hindi film industry. (Not at all, sir. Nobody can take the credit away from Shah Rukh Khan and Aditya Chopra. Shah Rukh has done a really good job. His fans were waiting for his film and it arrived at the right time).”
Workwise, Salman Khan was recently seen in Farhad Samji’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan alongside Pooja Hegde and Venkatesh Daggubati.
