Raashii Khanna, who is currently basking in the success of her web series Farzi, recently opened up on how Shahid Kapoor’s web series Farzi came her way.
Raashii Khanna, who is a prominent name down the South, grabbed a lot of eyeballs when she made her OTT debut opposite Ajay Devgn in Disney+ Hotstar’s web series, Rudra: The Edge Of Darkness. Currently, the actress is the talk of the town for her impressive act in Shahid Kapoor’s web debut, Farzi, helmed by Raj & DK.
In her recent interview with Filmfare, Raashii got candid about how she was cast in this critically-acclaimed film.
The Thiruchitrambalam actress revealed that she signed Farzi way before Rudra: The Edge Of Darkness. But the latter was released first.
Raashii told the portal, “Raj and DK sir had seen some old auditions of mine and a scene from one of my films called Tholi Prema, which had done well in Telugu, and they thought, ‘This is our Megha’ and that was it, I was onboard. And then I got to do Rudra and Yodha (her upcoming film with Siddharth Malhotra).
The Imaikkaa Nodigal star said that Raj & DK’s no-nonsense approach suited her.
“They told me and said that they didn’t want any makeup on my face. And they didn’t want my hair to be nicely done because I wasn’t a heroine in this. I’m okay with playing any kind of character that, as an actor, puts me out of my comfort zone. And I don’t care about the way I look because I think I have done that enough,” Raashii explained.
Raashii Khanna made her debut in the Hindi film industry with a brief role in John Abraham’s Madras Cafe.
