Priyanka Chopra, while speaking at Red Sea International Film Festival (RSIFF) 2024, opened up on her experience of working in Shah Rukh Khan’s Don.
Priyanka Chopra packed a punch as Roma in Farhan Akhtar’s 2006 action thriller Don headlined by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The actress was seen performing some kickass action sequences in this film, and Don 2 which was the second film in this franchise.
Recently, Priyanka graced the Red Sea International Film Festival (RSIFF) 2024 in Saudi Arabia where at an event, the actress reflected upon her career and opened up on doing action scenes in Don.
The ‘Bajirao Mastani’ actress recalled taking training to perform Tai Chi for her iconic introduction scene in this Shah Rukh Khan film and shared, “I took Tai Chi classes and worked really hard to perfect it because I wanted to do it right.”
Priyanka also discussed her biggest takeaway from working on this Farhan Akhtar directorial and stressed on the importance of focusing on one’s craft rather than interpersonal dynamics on set.
“By the time I came to Don, I had realized that the most important thing to focus on is my craft, not your relationships with your director, co-actors, not how you behave on set, but what you do between action and cut,” the actress said that at the event.
Priyanka said that she prioritizes character research and preparation to bring uniqueness to her performances.
While sharing her experience of doing action scenes in Don, the actress said in a lighter vein, “A lot of training went into the action sequences in Don, and I tasted blood a little bit. I look really good with a weapon in my hand defending my country; what can I say?”
Don, which released in 2006, was a remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s 1978 blockbuster by the same name. Five years later, Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra reunited for Don 2. Currently, Don 3 is in the works with Ranveer Singh replacing King Khan in the titular role. The makers are yet to announce the leading lady of this film.
