Prithviraj Sukumar talked about his upcoming film, Prabhas starrer Salaar locking horns with Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki at the box office this Christmas.
It’s the clash of the Titans this December as Prabhas starrer Salaar Part 1 – Ceasefire will be releasing alongside Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki. While Salaar is helmed by Prashanth Neel of KGF fame, Dunki marks Shah Rukh Khan’s first collaboration with Rajkumar Hirani.
Speaking about Salaar, besides Prabhas, the big-budget action entertainer also features Prithviraj Sukumaran as the main antagonist, Vardharaja Mannar. In a recent interaction with Hindustan Times, the actor reacted to his film locking horns at Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki at the box office.
Prithviraj told the daily, “I am not quite sure what promotions plans are, the makers will let us know by November how they roll out the film. I am in touch with Prashanth (Neel, director) But the fact that we are releasing with Hirani sir and Shah Rukh sir’s film, leave everything else, as a film lover I love it! I am excited that during the holiday season, you have two giant films, by two giant filmmakers, starring two big stars, and diametrically opposite in every possible parameter like the story and narrative.”
He continued, “I am going to be watching both, I can promise you that. I am so looking forward to it. When did this last happen, that over a holiday season, we had two such big films. What better year than 2023 to celebrate Indian cinema like this.”
For the unversed, Salaar was originally scheduled to hit the big screen on September 28 but the release was pushed by the makers due to “unforeseen circumstances.” Apart from Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, the ambitious film also stars Shruti Haasan, Eshwari Rao, Jagapathi Babu and Sriya Reddy. Meanwhile, the makers of the film dropped a special poster featuring Prithviraj on his birthday (October 16).
