Actress Pooja Banerjee opens up on how she drew inspiration from Deepika Padukone’s character Veronica to play Pihu in Bade Acche Lagte Hain 2.
Earlier this year, Ekta Kapoor’s popular soap, Bade Acche Lagte Hain 2 took a generation leap and introduced new characters- Pooja Banerjee as Pihu, Niti Taylor as Prachi, Randeep Rai as Raghav and Leenesh Matoo as Angad.
Recently, in an interview with a leading tabloid, Pooja Banerjee revealed how she took inspiration from Deepika Padukone’s character Veronica from Homi Adajania’s 2012 film, Cocktail.
The actress shared, “Deepika’s character Veronica has left an impact in my heart, I loved how she played the role so effortlessly. Veronica is feisty and fierce but deep down, she has an emotional void in her life. She uses partying as her coping mechanism to fill up the vacuum in her life. Pihu has those similar traits, losing her parents at a young age, seeing people go to lengths for money has scarred her. I try to take inspiration from Veronica while giving my own twist to it.”
She also said that when the makers revealed her look as Pihu, she was impressed by it.
“It was love at first sight for me. From the hair colour, and dark kohled eyes to junk jewellery and funky outfits, the look is beautifully designed for the character of Pihu. Bohemian fashion can never be wrong,” Pooja told the daily.
Calling herself a fan of Bohemian style, the actress added, “Finally donning those wonderful looks is a tick in my fashion wish list.”
Pooja Banerjee has previously been a part of TV shows like Kumkum Bhagya, Kasautii Zindagii Ki and Chandra Nandini to name a few.
