Music composer Rochak Kohli reacted to Kartik Aaryan-Kiara Advani’s Pasoori remake receiving a mixed response post release.

Ahead of the release of Satyaprem Ki Katha, the makers of this Kartik Aaryan-Kiara Advani starrer had dropped a brand new song from the film a few days ago. Titled ‘Pasoori Nu’, the track is a remake version of Ali Sethi-Shae Gill’s viral song ‘Pasoori’ which was one of the most searched songs on Google in 2022.

However upon the release of this recreated version crooned by Arijit Singh and Tulsi Kumar received a mixed response on social media with a section of people slamming the remake. In a recent interview with News18, Rochak Kohli who composed this Kartik-Kiara song shared that Ali and Arijit anticipated this response even before the track was created.

The music composer told News18, “We cannot stop any kind of reaction. Even before we created the remake, everyone including Ali and Arijit expected such reactions because it is like disrupting something that has been done really well. So the initial reactions were only on the idea that ‘Pasoori’ was being recreated as many hadn’t even heard the song. We launched the song on Monday morning and we received a lot of hatred. As people are listening to it, their reactions are turning positive and are saying that this isn’t as bad as we expected.”

Rochak told the publication that the song was made with ‘honest intentions’ and with the ‘best available talent’.

“The song has all approval by the original creators. Also, we make sure that we don’t hurt anyone’s sentiments. The original song was poetic and in Punjabi, we decided to simplify it and keep it in Hindi. There were many challenges but overall we are very satisfied with the new version,” he told the portal.

Meanwhile Shae, who performed the original song with Ali, had recently stated that she was unaware of the remake. Responding to her statement, Rochak said that ‘Pasoori’ wasn’t penned by her and added that all rights belonged to Ali and Coke Studio.
