Kartik Aaryan opened up on his struggle to gain recognition after his debut film, Luv Ranjan’s Pyaar Ka Punchnama.

Kartik Aaryan stepped into the Hindi film industry with Luv Ranjan’s romantic comedy Pyaar Ka Punchnama in 2011. His five-minute long monologue in the film went viral in no time and became extremely popular with the youngsters. After featuring in its sequel Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, the actor tasted massive success with Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and since then, there’s no looking back for him.

In a recent chat with ETimes, Kartik spoke about his many years of struggle in the initial phase of his career.

The tabloid quoted him as saying, “There was a lot of struggle before I cracked my first film Pyaar Ka Punchnama. Then there was a struggle when I didn’t get the recognition that I craved for, which I finally got after Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. So, from Pyaar Ka Punchnama to Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, those seven years were the biggest struggle of my life.”

After starring in a string of rom-coms, Kartik has been lately dabbling with different genres by doing films like Dhamaka (thriller-action), Bhool Bhulaiyya 2 (horror-comedy) and Freddy (psychological thriller). Speaking about the same, the Shehzada actor said that while he believes in doing films from different genres, he will always make sure that his movies are high on entertainment quotient.

“My films will always be bound by the common thread of entertainment. The audience should expect various characters essayed by me, but whatever the genre, I won’t let go of the entertainment quotient in my films. So yes, I am excited about doing films in different genres as long as they are high on entertainment,” the publication quoted Kartik as saying.

Speaking about Kartik’s upcoming projects, the actor will next be seen in Satyaprem Ki Katha alongside Kiara Advani. The film marks the Bollywood directorial debut of noted Marathi filmmaker Sameer Vidwans.
