Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently talked about how actors like him, Manoj Bajpayee and Irrfan Khan get praised for their acting talent but are hardly given any opportunities when it comes to big-budget films.

    Nawazuddin-Siddiqui-News

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of the few actors in the film industry which hardly disappoints when it comes to performances on screen. However, he feels like actors like him, Manoj Bajpayee and late Irrfan Khan have never been given an opportunity to headline big-budget films despite getting praised for the acting chops.

The Gangs Of Wasseypur actor also added that mediocre actors are getting opportunities because they have money and ‘powerful friends’ in the industry.

While speaking with Zoom, Nawazuddin said, “Today, mediocre actors are getting attention because they have money and powerful friends who hype them up and create opportunities for them. Because these mediocre actors have such powerful friends in the industry, we know that we cannot speak against them.”

Citing examples of other talented performers like Manoj Bajpayee and Irrfan Khan who too, never got a chance to star in big-budget movies, he shared that even though people keep calling them great actors, no one has ever invested Rs 50 crores on them.

“Be it Irrfan Khan or Manoj Bajpayee nobody has made a big film with us. They keep calling us great actors, but no one has ever invested in Rs 50 crore on us. When the same actors die, people call them the greatest actors ever. They don’t give them the respect they deserve when they are alive,” Nawazuddin was quoted as saying by the entertainment portal.

On the work front, Nawazuddin Siddiqui was recently seen in Jogira Sara Ra Ra alongside Neha Sharma. The film failed to impress the audience and the critics alike. His next is Venkatesh Daggubati starrer Saindhav.
