Manushi Chhillar, in a recent interview, opened up on the failure of her Bollywood debut, Samrat Prithviraj in which she was paired opposite Akshay Kumar.
After winning the Miss World crown in 2017, Manushi Chhillar made her debut in Hindi cinema with Akshay Kumar’s historical film, Samrat Prithviraj. There was a huge anticipation around this film since it was Akshay’s first period movie. Unfortunately, the film was panned by the critics and the audience upon its release and it flopped miserably at the box office.
Recently, in a chat with an entertainment portal, Manushi opened up on the failure of Samrat Prithviraj and said that she was disappointed when the film didn’t perform well at the ticket windows.
The actress was quoted as saying by Film Companion, “As a human, I know I worked really hard on that film and for someone who has never done anything like this, I know how much hard work I put in but it didn’t work, something which I had no control over. So, there was a little bit of disappointment.”
Made on a hefty budget of around Rs 200 Crore, Samrat Prithviraj minted a lifetime collection of just Rs 68.05 Crore at the box office.
Speaking about Manushi Chhillar, the actress recently made her red carpet debut at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival where she made several heads turn with her glamorous looks. On the work front, she has John Abraham starrer Tehraan and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan alongside Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff.
