Madhuri Dixit revealed she was warned against being a part of Salman Khan-Sanjay Dutt starrer Saajan.
Bollywood’s ‘dhak dhak’ girl Madhuri Dixit ruled the film industry in the 90s, and delivered several hits at the box office. Madhuri recalled, “This is Saajan. What a beautiful film. What songs are in that movie? And I remember when I had signed this film, many people said, ‘Why are you doing this movie? It’s not going to work.'”
The ‘Tezaab’ actress shared that back then, people were unsure whether Sanjay Dutt would be accepted in the role of the differently-abled character as he was majorly known for his action-packed roles.
Madhuri told the publication, “People said Sanjay Dutt is an action star. And he is shown like this. Like a handicapped person. How can this happen? This is not going to work. But once the film was made, and you know, it created history after that.”
The actress added that Dutt looked ‘nice’ in a different role, and the songs from the film continue to remain evergreen.
Saajan revolves around a poet and his best friend who fall for the same girl. While Nadeem-Shravan composed the film’s music, the lyrics were written by Sameer.
Coming back to Madhuri Dixit, the actress was recently seen in Kartik Aaryan-Vidya Balan starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
