Kriti Sanon emphasized on how a film’s success is not just about one person when asked about the sexist narrative prevailing in the industry where a film’s failure is often blamed on women.

Kriti Sanon is currently basking in the success of her latest release Crew co-starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tabu. In a career spanning a decade, the actress has her share of hits and flops.

Recently in an interaction with Zoom, the ‘Adipurush’ actress was asked to comment on the sexist narrative where the failure of a film is often blamed on women.

In response, Kriti told the publication, “I have come across really hurtful comments. A film, succeeding or not, is not one just person. It’s a whole team. I choose to ignore all of this and let my work speak because nothing else really matters.”

Elaborating on it, the actress said that such sexist narratives exist in the field of sports as well and added, “People quickly blame it on the girl sometimes, in many cases, not just films, even matches sometimes,” she said and added, “Trolls are trolls, you can’t pay so much attention to them.”

In the same interview, Kriti also said that  it would be nicer if the people in the film industry support each other genuinely rather than just dropping compliments for the sake of it.

“We will be somewhere else if we start uniting and start supporting each other. Genuinely supporting and genuinely feeling good… Not doing it for the heck of it, just being there, clapping and applauding for each other. It’s just going to be much nicer, happier and a much more successful place. I don’t see that unity so much here. I don’t know how many people are genuinely happy when a film does well but I think that’s changing a little bit. At least, I am hoping,” the actress told the portal.

The ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ star further said that when one watches something that really moves them, it actually makes a difference when they compliment the actors and the creators for their work as they thrive on validation.

On the film front, Kriti will next be seen in the Netflix film, Do Patti alongside Kajol and Shaheer Shaikh.
