Kiara Advani, in a recent interview, shared that she had auditioned for Laal Singh Chaddha years ago.
Advait Chandan’s Laal Singh Chaddha which released a year ago, featured Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan in leading roles. But do you know that Kiara Advani had also auditioned for this film but had failed to bag the role? The actress made this revelation in her recent chat with an entertainment portal.
In a conversation with Film Companion, when Kiara was asked if she would audition for a role which generally isn’t a norm for many mainstream stars in the film industry, the actress shared that she had auditioned for Laal Singh Chaddha, adding that she must have been terrible since she failed to bag the part. While Kiara refrained from specifying the role she had auditioned for, it is believed to be the female lead which was eventually played by Kareena Kapoor Khan.
“I also auditioned for Laal Singh Chaddha. At that time, I didn’t know it was for Laal Singh Chaddha. I really don’t want to see that audition though. I really must have been terrible. It was many many years ago,” said the Satyaprem Ki Katha actress in her interview.
She further added, “Casting is such an important part of filmmaking. The right cast can add so much value. It’s not about who’s a better actor. It’s about who’s better suited for the part. It’s always teamwork and it’s so important to get the right cast for a film. It’s absolutely wonderful to audition, great to know if you are suited for the part.”

Interestingly, Kareena had previously revealed in one of her interviews that she too went through an audition and a four-hour narration for her role in Laal Singh Chaddha. The actress had added that she had to give an audition for this film so that she could prove that she is apt for the role.
Speaking about Laal Singh Chaddha, the film is an Indian adaptation of Tom Hanks’ Hollywood classic Forrest Gump. Upon its release, it received mixed reviews and turned out to be a box-office flop.
