Keerthy Suresh who is a part of Mari Selvaraj’s Maamannan, shared that Vadivelu will be presented in a never-seen before-avatar in this film. She also spoke about her experience of working with him.
Mari Selvaraj’s upcoming Tamil political thriller Maamannan is touted to be one of the most anticipated films of this year for its interesting cast and premise. Headlined by Udhayanidhi Stalin, Vadivelu, Fahadh Faasil and Keerthy Suresh, the recently released trailer received a positive response from the audience.
Meanwhile, Keerthy Suresh, in a new interview with Cue Studio, shared that Maamannan features ‘Vaigai Puyal’ Vadivelu in a never-seen-avatar, adding that it will mark his long-awaited comeback.
The actress shared, “I saw a flashback scene of Vadivelu’s character in Maamannan and it was amazing. In this film, he takes on the central role, depicting a character deeply entrenched in a serious atmosphere. This is a role that he has never done before. Maamannan will mark Vadivelu’s comeback.”
Keerthy told the portal that she had a lot of fun while working with the Pokkiri actor.
“Working with Vadivelu sir was so much fun. He would make us laugh all the time. I never thought that I would receive the opportunity to work with him. Maamannan was a project that I enjoyed a lot,” the actress shared in her interview.
Previously, at the audio launch of Maamannan, Vadivelu had shared that Kamal Haasan’s Thevar Magan (1992) was among the biggest inspirations for Maamannan. The actor had said, “This is not a film. It is truth. The root of my performance in this is from what Kamal sir taught me in Thevar Magan.”
He had further added, “I have worked with many directors in my career. Kamal Haasan was the one who made me do what I was doing on the streets in film. My training is from there. I came up after a lot of struggles, which Mari Selvaraj has also gone through.”
Produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant movies, Maamannan is slated to release on June 29, 2023.
