Kajol shared an interesting trivia about the iconic DDLJ poster featuring her and her co-star Shah Rukh Khan in a recent interview.
Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan are one of the most loved jodis on screen who have given us several memorable films together over the years. One of them is Aditya Chopra’s directorial debut Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. The romantic drama is still cherished by fans for SRK-Kajol’s magical chemistry and Jatin-Lalit’s memorable songs.
Besides all these things, DDLJ is also remembered for its iconic poster which features Shah Rukh Khan lifting Kajol on his shoulder. But do you know there is an interesting story about this iconic pose? Kajol, in one of her recent interviews, shared that Shah Rukh Khan had a frozen shoulder after the photoshoot for this poster.
Walking down the memory lane, Kajol told Curly Tales, “One thing that comes to my mind is how I got into that position by the way. Ek toh bechara Shah Rukh kandhe pe uthaake… mujhe itna bura lag raha tha uske liye, itna bura lag raha tha (Poor Shah Rukh was standing with me on his shoulder, I was feeling so bad for him). I was like, ‘are you sure you can do this?’ He said, ‘Don’t worry, I am strong.’ I was like, ‘ya, but you have to carry me on your shoulder. Will you be able to?'”
While she agreed that it looked very effortless, the actress also added, “I was really worried about him. I think he took a hit onto his masculinity that ‘How can you say that to me? I am a guy.’ He very sweetly carried me and didn’t make me feel heavy at all… Later, there was frozen shoulder. Us waqt tha ‘wow’ (that time it was wow).”
