Juhi Chawla, on the completion of 30 years of Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke‘ shared an interesting anecdote about the famous ‘Ghoonghat Ki Aad Se’ song from the film.
Juhi Chawla and Aamir Khan have worked together in many memorable films. One of them is Mahesh Bhatt’s 1993 family entertainer Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke. The romantic comedy which was one of the biggest hits of that year had also bagged National Film Award – Special Mention (Feature Film).
Besides Aamir Khan-Juhi Chawla’s cute chemistry and the humour, the film is still remembered for Nadeem-Shravan’s melodious music. Recently, on the completion of 30 years of Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Juhi Chawla walked down the memory lane and recalled shooting for the famous ‘Ghoonghat Ki Aad Se’ song in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
In a conversation with Hindustan Times, the actress shared that this popular number was filmed after shooting the whole film with only the assistants turning up on the sets.
Juhi told the publication, “We had already shot the whole film and just this song was left. So I don’t know how but only the assistants turned up on shoot. Tahir saab, Mahesh Bhatt, Saroj Khan (Choreograher), Pravin Bhatt (Cinematographer) – everyone sent their assistants. Aamir and I and these assistants worked on the song, which turned out to be the highlight of the film. It was an unexpected thing but sometimes, you can’t explain how magic happens. This film is one of them.”
The Ishq actress said that she is grateful for all the love that people shower on this film and added, “If people remember the film after so many years, then it was magical. When we were making the film, none of us knew what was going on. The kids were so talented.”
Juhi also shared her experience of working with Aamir Khan on this film which was shot over a year and a half and told the portal that there was comfort level since they had worked together before.
“This was one of the early films, where we rehearsed scenes before it was shot. It was the first time I did anything like that. It was great fun working with Mahesh ji. I remember laughing a lot on the sets. I would want my kids to watch this film as it was funny. So many people tell me that they loved the film,” the Bollywood star said while speaking with the publication.
Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke revolves around a runaway bride Vyjayanthi who bumps into three kids at a carnival and seeks shelter at their house, unknown to their uncle, Rahul. Kunal Kemmu worked as a child artist on this film.
