Vedang Raina shared his experience of working with Alia Bhatt in Vasan Bala’s upcoming film, Jigra.
Vedang Raina, who made his acting debut with Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix teen film, Archies, will be seen sharing screen space with Alia Bhatt in Vasan Balan’s upcoming action thriller, Jigra. Recently in an episode of In The Rings Of Filmfare, the young actor showered praise on Alia and also shared his enriching experience of working with her.
Vedang said, “I think we have two opposite approaches when it comes to acting. I went so much to learn from her because I was so in awe of how she was approaching things with so much conviction.”
Recalling his first scene with her, the actor shared, “From the very first day, the first scene we had together, my first day of shoot was a scene with her and I realized what she is when I did that scene with her and why she is where she is.” He continued, “So much to learn every day on set. I was trying, even when I was not doing a scene, to see what she was doing and what other actors were doing because there are a lot of senior actors in my film.”
Vedang also opened up on his experience of working with director Vasan Bala and said that his approach was different from that of Zoya Akhtar with whom he collaborated on Archies. He said that it was a dream working with him and Alia.
“I came to the set prepared but realized Vasan Sir’s approach was to go with the flow. I became very comfortable improvising on set,” he said in his interview.
Talking about Jigra, the film which marks Alia’s second production venture after Darlings, narrates an emotional brother-sister story filled with intense action and drama. The film is slated to release in theatres on October 11, 2024.
