Director Farhad Samji, in a recent interaction, reacted to the criticism he received for choosing to direct Hera Pheri 3.
Ever since it has been revealed that the iconic trio of Raju (Akshay Kumar), Shyam (Suniel Shetty) and Baburao Ganpatrao Apte (Paresh Rawal) are making a comeback on screen in Hera Pheri 3, fans of the franchise can’t keep their calm.
While on one hand, netizens are happy about this development, the reports of director Farhad Samji being picked up to helm this much-anticipated movie hasn’t gone down well with many. In fact, a few of them even trended ‘Remove Farhad Samji from Hera Pheri’ on Twitter.
In a recent interaction with Bollywood Hungama, Farhad Samji reacted to this backlash on social media.
The filmmaker told the news portal, “Firstly, when the film has not even been officially announced, toh kaun hai yeh log? Secondly, you used two words in your question and I’d like to highlight them – ‘unfair’ and ‘target’. We try our best. If anyone has any problem, then we’ll try to rectify it by making better movies and by writing better punches. Our intention is to appeal to audiences of all kinds and provide them with a film that has a combination of romance, masala, action, comedy etc. God has been very kind right from my writing days, and it continues as I turned director.”
He also pointed out how his previous projects like Akshay Kumar starrer Housefull 4 and Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 have been huge hits at the box office.
On the upcoming front, Farhad Samji’s next is the Eid release, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan starring Salman Khan and Pooja Hegde.
