Farah Khan recalled how Aamir Khan tricked her into believing his reason for not appearing in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Deewangi’ song in Om Shanti Om (2007).
Farah Khan’s 2007 reincarnation drama Om Shanti Om featured Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and marked the acting debut of Deepika Padukone. The film was a box office success upon its release. One of the most memorable moments in the film is the multistarrer ‘Deewangi’ song which featured as many as 31 Bollywood actors in it.
In a recent interview, Farah Khan who directed Om Shanti Om and choreographed this track opened up on how she got the stars on board. She also narrated how Aamir Khan gave the ‘funniest’ excuse to avoid making a cameo in her song.
On Maniesh Paul’s podcast, Farah recalled, “We called a lot of stars who eventually did not come. Amit ji could not come. Abhishek and Aishwarya were getting married that week, so he couldn’t come. Aamir’s was the funniest, he kept me hanging and in the end, he gave me the reason that he was editing Taare Zameen Par. I said, ‘Just come, I will get it done in two hours.”
