Jr NTR, who was recently seen in Devara Part-1, opined that people are becoming too critical and overanalyzing films instead of enjoying them.

Jr NTR’s last release, Devara Part-1 opened to mixed reviews. While the ‘RRR’ star’s performance in the film was appreciated, Koratala Siva’s direction failed to impress the audience. Though the action drama has reportedly crossed Rs 250-crore mark in India at the box office, it pales in comparison to Jr NTR’s earlier film, RRR.

According to a report in India Today, Jr NTR in a recent interview, pointed out how the audiences, these days, have become too ‘negative’ and end up overanalyzing movies, and that has affected their ability to enjoy films.

The actor said, “We, as an audience, have become very negative these days. We are not able to enjoy a film in an innocent manner anymore.”

He further reflected on his own experience watching films with his children and added,  “When I watch my sons, they don’t care about what actor or what movie they are watching; they just enjoy movies. I wonder why we are not able to be that innocent anymore?”

Speaking about how the viewers have become too judgmental about films, he continued, “Every film today, we are watching it to analyse. We are all constantly judging, analysing, and overthinking about films. Maybe our exposure to cinema has made us like this.”

Jr NTR went on to say that current trend might just be part of a cycle in how audiences connect with films. He said that he is hopeful that this phase will pass, and people will go back to enjoying films more casually.

“Maybe this is all part of the cycle. All of this might go to an extreme or already did, and then, will correct itself and return to normal,” he said in the interview.

Coming back to Devara Part-1, the Koratala Siva directorial features Jr NTR in a dual role, alongside Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor.
