Jr NTR spilled the beans about why the makers of Devara Part-1 had initially removed the ‘Daavudi’ song from the film. However, they have now added it back because of the growing demand from fans.

Prior to the theatrical release of Jr NTR-Saif Ali Khan’s Devara Part-1, the makers of the film had dropped a song titled ‘Daavudi’. The fast-paced catchy song featured the ‘RRR’ star shaking a leg with the leading lady, Janhvi Kapoor. However when Devara Part-1 hit the big screens, fans were surprised to see that the makers had removed the song from the film.

According to a report in India Today, Jr NTR, in a recent interview, explained the reason behind the same. The Telugu star revealed that this choice was made after thoughtful discussions with director Koratala Siva and editor Sreekar Prasad.

He said, “We felt like the film is travelling and getting serious. In fact, the story takes a serious spin, and we felt a song at that point would break the momentum of the narration.”

Despite knowing the popularity of his dance performances in films, the ‘Temper’ actor emphasized on the importance of storytelling over entertainment. He said that they didn’t wanted to adulterate the essence of the story by including a song at that point in the film.

Director Koratala, Siva who was also a part of the same conversation, called the omission of the song as ‘Jr NTR’s biggest sacrifice.’ He said that while they wanted to include the song, they prioritized the film’s emotional trajectory over individual moments of spectacle.

However following an outpouring of requests from fans, the makers added the song to the film a week after its release as they felt that this addition will enhance the viewing experience of cinegoers while still aligning with the narrative arc of the film.

Devara Part-1 features Jr NTR, and marks the Telugu debut of Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.
