Bobby Deol, in a new interview, recalled how director Sandeep Reddy Vanga briefed him for his entry scene in Ranbir Kapoor’s latest blockbuster Animal.

Bobby Deol is on cloud nine. His latest release, Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal has set the box office on fire and the ‘Soldier’ actor has been receiving a lot of love and appreciation from all corners despite having a limited screen time in the film.

For those living under the rock, Bobby‘s entry scene from Animal has gone viral on social media with netizens talking about how they can’t get enough of the Bollywood star shaking a leg to an Iranian track called ‘Jamaal Jamaaloo’. The song too has become a rage on the internet.

In his latest interview with Pinkvilla, Bobby reacted to his viral entry scene in the film and praised director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s vision.

The actor said, “He (Sandeep Reddy Vanga) told me, ‘Bobby Sir, I’ll show Ranbir Kapoor looking completely finished, tired, exhausted, and then suddenly the frame changes and your smiling face appears’. He told me all that, it’s his vision, and then you’re dancing. It’s your wedding. I don’t know where he found that tune. All the music in the film, he discovered old Punjabi folk tunes, Marathi songs, and everything he got was like he’s from Telugu cinema and he knows it all. But it’s gone viral. Whenever I check my phone, and someone tags me, it’s always that song playing in the background. It’s really nice.”

He also opened up on playing a mute character and shared how Vanga had told him about his role without divulging the entire plot of the film. Bobby said that he was excited to take up this challenge as he has been trying to do work that is out of his comfort zone as he believes that it brings out the best in him.

The actor further expressed his gratitude for his role getting a positive response and said, “I was like, ‘Okay, now I have to be mute, how do I perform?’ I know my voice is powerful and I know I can use my voice, but now I don’t have my voice. But it was so much fun, it was so challenging. The kind of love I am getting, it makes you feel so nice because you work hard and you’ve kind of done it right, and people are appreciating it.”

Besides Bobby Deol and Ranbir Kapoor, Animal also features Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Tripti Dimri in pivotal roles.
