Atlee reacted to his upcoming production, Varun Dhawan starrer Baby John, facing competition from Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2.
Allu Arjun-Sukumar’s Pushpa 2 is unstoppable at the box office. Amidst this, Varun Dhawan’s Baby John is gearing up to hit the theatrical screens on December 25. While there is a chatter in the trade circle whether Pushpa 2‘s record-breaking run will affect Baby John‘s business, the latter’s presenter, Atlee clarified his stance on this at a recent press meet held in Mumbai.
The Jawan director told reporters that does not view this situation as a ‘head-to-head’ clash.
Atlee said, “It’s an ecosystem. Me and Allu Arjun sir are very good friends. We’re releasing Baby John in the fourth week of December, not head-to-head. So don’t call it a clash. There’s no conflict here. We’re aware that Pushpa 2 shifted from August to December, and we’ve planned our release around Christmas. We’re all professionals, and we know how to handle this.”
The filmmaker also revealed that Pushpa 2 star Allu Arjun recently reached out to him to congratulate him on Baby John and even had a chat with Varun Dhawan.
“He congratulated me about the film and spoke to Varun. There’s great friendship and love in this ecosystem,” Atlee said at the event.
Helmed by Kalee, Baby John is an adaptation of Atlee and Thalapathy Vijay’s 2016 blockbuster movie Theri. The film also features Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi and Jackie Shroff in pivotal roles. Bollywood superstar Salman Khan will be seen in a cameo in this action thriller.
