Arjun Rampal reacted to the news of Ranveer Singh replacing Shah Rukh Khan in Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3.
After years of speculation, Farhan Akhtar recently announced the much anticipated Don 3 with Ranveer Singh. The official announcement drew mixed reaction on social media.
While a section of people expressed their excitement over seeing Singh in this new avatar, there were some who were disappointed about him playing the lead role instead of Shah Rukh Khan. The latter had essayed the titular role in Don and Don 2.
Recently, in a chat with Zoom, Arjun Rampal shared his opinion on Ranveer Singh stepping into King Khan’s shoes for Farhan’s upcoming directorial. The actor said that he feels the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani star will give it his best shot and wished him luck.
Arjun told the publication, “I think it’s good. It is like when you do a Bourne Ultimatum, or a Bourne Identity or a James Bond (film). Don’s that kind of a franchise. So, the mantle’s being put onto Ranveer’s shoulders. I think he is a fantastic actor and I think he will give it his best shot. So, I wish him all the best.”
Previously, Don 3 director Farhan Akhtar had also reacted to the criticism over Ranveer’s casting and assured fans that the Bollywood actor will do a great job in the film. Akhtar had said that it is his responsibility as a director to make Don 3 work.
Coming back to Arjun Rampal, on the film front, the actor was last seen on the big screen as the main antagonist in Kangana Ranaut starrer Dhaakad. The spy thriller bombed at the box office.
