Arjun Kapoor spoke about how his producer-father Boney Kapoor dealt with the failure of his 1993 film Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja starring Anil Kapoor and Sridevi.

Boney Kapoor’s 1993 film Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja headlined by Anil Kapoor and late Sridevi was one of the most ambitious movies of that year. Unfortunately, despite all the hype and featuring an exciting star cast, the film upon its release turned out to be a big disaster.

Recently in a chat with The Hollywood Reporter, Boney Kapoor’s actor-son Arjun recalled how his father was in debt for four years after the release of Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja.

The ‘2 States’ actor shared, “It took him 4 years to repay the debt. He is the kind of person whose biopic will be great. o I have realised that the way he deals with people, I cannot try to be him, that’s his personality. So what he does is very unique. I am (cut) from the same cloth but I am very internal, maybe he is very external, maybe he’ll never ever let things affect him. Whereas I go within myself. I don’t know how he does it, I wish I did, I think it’s commendable.”

He continued, “I had to deal with emotional punches, he’s had to deal with financial punches. At the end of the day he is a businessman who takes a chance. He is a gambler at heart because he is also a flamboyant creative man.”

Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja was initially supposed to be directed by Shekhar Kapur. However, he was subsequently replaced by Satish Kaushik after he exited the project midway.

Coming back to Arjun Kapoor, the actor recently essayed the role of the main antagonist in Rohit Shetty’s multistarrer Singham Again.
